Dr. Natasha Halfkenny is a Boston-based educator with a passion for helping students from underserved populations achieve their goals and prepare for college. She is a principal with Boston Public Schools (BPS), and previously taught English/language arts. As principal, Dr. Natasha Halfkenny strives to create an inclusive learning environment with a focus on programming for students from marginalized populations. She also prioritizes community and family engagement and student social and emotional well-being.
In addition to her work with BPS, Dr. Natasha Halfkenny is an adjunct professor at Roxbury Community College, where she teaches English composition courses. She creates the course curriculum and materials, maintains class records, and assesses student progress. She is also the founder and CEO of Melanin Scholars, LLC, through which she offers tutoring, mentoring, financial literacy, college and career readiness counseling.
Complementing her educational leadership experience, Dr. Halfkenny holds an EdD in International Higher Education Administration from Northeastern University and a Master's degree in Teaching from Simmons College. She earned her undergraduate degree in Philosophy at Northeastern. She is a member of the Boston Association of School Administrators and Supervisors.
